With this mod, when a Sim dies, content of their inventory is transferred into inventory of another Sim who:
  • is alive,
  • does not belong to a family of special NPCs,
  • scored the highest number of points based on their kinship and relationship. In case of many same-scored Sims, one of those who had the highest lifetime relationship with the deceased is randomly chosen.
Additionally, depending on a config version, a Sim has to meet one of additional conditions in order to be considered as a potential heir:
  • mild: is related to the deceased, has ever met them but isn't their enemy, or lives in the same household,
  • strict (with friends): is related to the deceased, is their best friend, or lives in the same household,
  • strict (family only): is related to the deceased.
As for the scoring, in brief: in strict versions, the kinship-based succession order is strictly followed. In the mild version, the succession order is significantly influenced by non-familial relationships and Sims from unplayable families are chosen as a last resort.

Items that cannot be given as a gift (e.g. HB's traits), except of urns and gravestones, won't be transferred. They're called special items in the inventory inheritance dialog.

Both core and config files are necessary to make the mod work.
Use only one config file at a time.
This mod requires at least one expansion pack or stuff pack.

Scoring details
Kinship scoring (multiplied by 100 in strict versions):
  • +1 – cousin,
  • +2 – uncle/aunt,
  • +3 – grandparent,
  • +4 – nephew/niece,
  • +5 – sibling,
  • +6 – parent,
  • +7 – grandchild,
  • +8 – child,
  • +9 – spouse.
Relationship scoring:
  • -20 – enemy,
  • +1 – friend (only if not a best friend),
  • +1 – crush (only if not in love),
  • +1 – boyfriend/girlfriend,
  • +2 – best friend,
  • +2 – love,
  • +3 – engaged.
Other scoring:
  • -50 – is in an unplayable family (eg. townies).

Tuning
You can change the settings by editing the behavior constants of the selected config file in SimPe.
