Espresso Machine and Barista Improvements
Reduces irrational behavior associated with the community barista's espresso machine, increases the reliability of interactions with it and unlocks it for placement on home lots.
• Implements a queue for customers. They will wait their turn, usually won't attempt to walk into another person's spot, and sometimes have a group conversation amongst themselves.
• Usage by autonomous characters is limited by their current motives. Most visitors will walk away to do something else once they've had a cup of espresso. The bar will be free for controllable people to use, but still alive with an occasional drinker now and then.
• Order Coffee and Buy Coffee For are more likely to complete and happen without unnecessary delays on stairs and at the counter. The buyer sim will get his cup quickly and join his friend. Autonomous visitors will not come to interact while coffee is being ordered. Occasionally visitors will buy coffee for one another.
• The coffee machine is no longer treated as a Fun Object. Interactions with it happen at user driven priority and may not be easily interrupted by autonomous sims or pushed reactions. A user-controlled barista will keep working until her motives get critical.
• Handle socials with close targets such as Apartments greet and actions on self like answering the mobile telephone without quitting the job. The barista can execute a sales social or operate a nearby cash register while idle. Waiting customers will notify the barista out of idling and call her back.
• The barista will not hang or crash with stack underflow if directed by the user or an emitter to do something else than serve coffee. This used to happen often without taking any special actions if it rained. (Blame OFB employees.)
• Teens can work as espresso baristas, both user-directed and NPC (if exist), dressed in the green body apron.
• Family members and managers do the same actions as employees on owned businesses – force out the previous barista and set own ID as the currently working sim. Enables the options to order coffee and disables make and serve on business lots, when an owner has taken the barista's position.
• Permit making the barista selectable with a debug object without causing a new NPC to be created or the person's body temperature permanently altered.
• Returned the option to juggle the coffee cups. Made the possibility of juggling for visitors dependent on their playfulness and current fun level.
• Option to call guests to drink coffee. Notify out of the serving interaction to keep two cups for them.
• The barista NPC will arrive for work in dormitories, vacation hotels, hobby lots and the common area of an apartment, except when the object is placed against a wall.
• Buy social gives more relationship. Targets are sorted by relationship.
• Money for working is paid out less often.
• The barista will dress in the black bartender outfit in restaurants.
• The barista will make one cup if there are no more people in the queue. She will remove old coffee cups. The barista will sit down to recover comfort if a chair is near behind the counter.
• Barista cleans the immediate surroundings if provided with a sink, dishwasher or a trash bin.
• Barista gains some social from working.
The patch changes all behavior code for the espresso machine and the barista NPC, and may not coexist with other overrides that alter these objects or interactions with them in any way. Interactions with the coffee cup are in a separate package.
Espresso Cup Smarter
Find a better location for drinking coffee: prefer to sit with a friend on an open bench or a chair without a table, indoors when raining. Try multiple chairs silently if blocked.
Search within a limited distance for a table to place an empty cup. Cups may be placed on dining tables in all slots, and can coexist with a food dishes.
When instructed to clean, the person will collect all cups within range for washing. A drinker may autonomously decide to clean up depending on the personality. Cups contained within a machine can't be cleaned up.
Option packages
Solid No Jitter:
Do not start the shaking animation after drinking. Only applies to this mod.
No Cashier:
Disable the double duty of handing customers at a vacant cash register.
Game version: At least Open for Business. Likely NightLife.
