Edit: Replaced both files after a report about the Art Gallery - fixed now.

Edit - Added a subhood version (shopping hood) - after a couple of requests. The subhood is B224 and the main hood is P244.

Paternoster is inspired by a small town/village on the West Coast of South Africa. The hood has no custom content. Some defaults and custom content are used in the screenshots.

The name means The Lord's Prayer, and it is attributed to a Portuguese ship stranding there in the early 1800's on route to India; not long before the town was proclaimed. Every single one survived and showed how grateful they were by praying The Lord's Prayer for days on end.

"We live in heaven here, we only have to die."
Some tourists say Paternoster reminds them of Greece. "We say Greece reminds us of Paternoster."


There are cultural lots like the church, library, art gallery, etc.

A Bit of Background


The hood is unpopulated, except for 5 NPC's that have spawned. I have built it with the UC; if you don't use the UC, you will need all expansion and stuff packs and your game should be fully patched.

If you use a pond water mod that requires swimming pool squares, I have added those, and your mod should work.

After more than a year, a computer breaking down, abusing the Modify Neighborhood Terrain daily until the lots across from the beach lots stopped being flooded, getting on terms with Windows 11 and facing hours every day without electricity - I am so happy to say there are;

83 lots, 48 residential, 2 apartment lots with 4 units to rent each and 33 community lots. Have a look at some of them, most of them (excluding the beach lots) with the sun at the back (all of them are in the screenshots). Most residential lots are fully furnished and have a garage or a driveway.

Most of the lots are on the small side, sizes are per the lot adjustor, which adds the 10 tiles from the road. (That means a 3X3 lot will be 3X2 in normal size).

malmok - local name for a mollyhawk, a large type of albatross found on the West and East Coast of Southern Africa.
