Gorgon Mod (A New Occult)

A late happy 16th birthday to The Sims 3!

This Sims 3 mod adds a brand new occult to the game, gorgons! probably something that nobody asked for but here it is anyways. Gorgons can do a lot of new things and have a lot of new aspects that makes life both easier and more difficult for them. Gorgons are implemented in the same way as any other occults, so this is the first uploaded mod that features a custom occult. It was kinda tricky to get it to work properly, but I am very happy with the results and the mod even supports hybrids, well, only if you use NRAAS Master Controller to add an occult on top of the gorgon occult or if the sim is born to a gorgon and another occult.

As a gorgon, you can petrify sims, use different poisons and much more!

This mod adds a new hidden trait and hidden skill.

You might need to have NRaas Hybrid installed for some things to work. This is because Hybrid fixes a bunch of interactions and systems.

Updates
Minor Update 2025-06-18: Fixed some minor routing issues and added translations. Additionally, trying to break free from petrification will take longer depending on the skill level of the gorgon who petrified you.
Minor Update 2025-06-20: Fixed som minor bugs with petrification, for example, pregnant sims who are petrified will have their pregnancy paused while petrified. I also made slight edits to the gorgon trait logo and added translations.
Additional Minor Update 2025-06-20: Fixed additional unnoticeable bug with petrification.

Uninstalling
Since this mod contains a custom trait and custom skill, be careful when uninstalling this mod. Be sure to backup your save if you intend to use this mod on an already existing save.

Conflicts & Known Issues
This is a pure script mod, so theoreticallt, conflicts should not occur.

There are a few minor issues with the mod, none of which are gamebreaking.
- When petrifying sims by clicking on your own gorgon sim, you should probably avoid speeding up the game as the game doesn't like creating multiple statues as once. It's not gamebreaking, but the statues might take strange forms, like the forms of other already petrified sims. There might also be severeal statues created of the same sim when using the area petrification while speeding up the game. There, when using this ability, the game will automatically switch to game speed one. You should also avoid having multiple gorgons petrify sims at the same time as this might cause statues to be duplicated.
- Upon aging up to a toddler, child or teenager for example, gorgons will have normal hair for a brief moment before it turns into snakes. But sometimes, the snake hair doesn't get applied.
- When switching to for example maternity wear upon getting pregnant, the gorgon might recieve regular looking hari for that outfit along with snakes.
