Updated Feb 11th - SEVEN's FIY TV Channel with Mechanical Skill Gain

I'd like to just say a big thank you to Numenor and Echo for their support and help in making this mod.

The name for what will become a series of skill gaining channels was created in part from Echo's involvement in helping me work out a global loading issue. An echo is basically a repetition, your sims learn from the tv by "repeatedly" watching the channels and there are 7 main skills in the Sims.
Hence SEVEN (the Skill Echo Visual Education Network) has been born with this first of five channels (Body is covered by 'Work Out' and cooking by 'Yummy Channel')

WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO???

This mod adds a new Television channel to your sims TVs called FIY, the Fix It Yourself Network. This channel works in the same way as the Yummy Channel that comes with the original sims 2 except that instead of gaining cooking skill, your sims will gain Mechanical skill!!

Keep a look out for more of my skill gain TV Channel mods as I intend to make more. Your sim couch potatoes could very well be the next Sim-Einsteins!! People said TV taught you nothing, how wrong they are!

Screenshots attached show the new channel option, the sim starting to learn from the channel and gaining a skill level in mechanical from the mod.

UPDATES

Feb 11th - Added INSTALL SCREENSHOTS folder to archive with JPG pics for people to refer to during some of the key steps needed to install this mod. Hopefully this will help make things clearer and easier when installing.

Feb 5th - Edited the text lists so that games using other languages wouldn't in effect see two "Yummy Channels". Although the option for this channel will still be in English, it will make it easier to see this channel's option easier. Stripped all other languages other than english from the "your Sim has gained a skill point" message. Again, although not in the language used your game (if it isn't the english version) it will be easier to see the difference between gaining a cooking point by watching the yummy channel and gaining a mechanical point by watching FIY (Thanks to Numenor for pointing this out!)

This update in no way affects gameplay, if you are playing the game with a different language installed I'd update just to make the mod "neater" in your game. Please follow the new "Updating the mod package" section at the end of the README file to do this.

In order to cut down the file size I place the 2 movies I made for this channel in their own archive. If you wish to use your own clips for the channel go right ahead. Instructions for video placement are included within the README Install instructions. ((Please note - not placing any videos within the folder specified for the new TV Channel will cause the channel to just get a strange pattern on your sim's TV Screens - this doesn't mean the mod is faulty, just that movie clips are required to make the channel 'look' like a channel.
