Hide from your responsibilities in this cosy shack - whether by the beach, on campus or in town, this is a great way to escape the parental mansion and get back to basics.

Designed as a student residence, this house is excellent value for singles, and there's a double bed in case someone needs to...er...stay the night.

The main floor is an all-in-one living area, with one corner walled off for the bathroom. Don't be fooled by its size; there is room for visitors, and the little washroom contains a bath/shower unit to deal with all your cleansing needs. There are a few little spaces waiting for your easel or desk, too. The house is small, but efficient design makes this a very livable space.

The open loft is roomy, and you can even look over the railing to see who's snoozing on the lounge.

The shack is decorated in oceanic blues and greens, with all the basic inclusions such as kitchen, phone and bookshelf, as the photos will show.

Notes for Players:

Sleepers in the loft don't seem to be disturbed by any noise from downstairs. I had the TV going in the middle of the night, and they didn't stir.

Weatherproof for Seasons owners. There is not much room for expansion, but it you want an escape route (ahem, rear entrance), you could put in another door next to the fridge for easy access to the dustbin. The yard contains only sand and grass - what student wants to be bothered with gardening, anyway? You can plant stuff if you like.

The house was designed as a cheap private residence for college students, but would be great as a starter for any single or couple.

Enjoy!
