Chinese History Major (Cultural Diversity)

This Chinese History major was created for mod the sims’ Multicultural Create Competition.

BACKGROUND

Very few countries on Earth have several thousands years of history, China is one example. As I was testing this major, China just celebrated their 4711 New Year, the year of Snake, it happened to begin on February 10, 2013.

Starting from the Yellow Emperor to the present time, China has been through 18 Dynasties, with the Zhou Dynasty last the longest (800 years), followed by the Han Dynasty (400 years). If one wants to read the whole of Chinese history, one would end up reading 40,000 pages of material. Although there are Chinese scholars who think the Yellow Emperor was just a myth, equally plenty of Chinese scholars who think the Yellow Emperor was real.

If one asks me why (s)he should study Chinese history, I would say to gain wisdom.

This Chinese History Major was cloned from the History Major, all class hours and skills are the same as the original one. Therefore, focus skills are charisma, logic, creativity, and mechanical. Sims who graduated summa cum laude majoring in Chinese history will have a boost in the artist career, military, politics, and may include some of the Seasons’ careers (I cannot tell you which ones because I don’t play Seasons). Obviously, you need the University EP to use this major.

This new major has its own GUID 0x72B9F8D0, does not overwrite maxis’ majors, and has its own custom major icon (made by me). The Chinese symbol is the word for history. As usual, sims cannot choose any custom major using a computer (if they can that means the original maxis major has been overwritten!). Sims can choose custom majors right on campus by using FrikaC’s Majors Made Easier mod (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=107858). Note: If you already have the InSimenator mod, you don't need FrikaC's mod, the InSimenator can do the same.

This major has been tested by sending 2 teen sims (that were raised from birth) from 2 different families to the Academie La Tour, everything was working properly, including satisfying aspiration wants with memories. My young adults successfully graduated with this Chinese History Major without any problem. The game play was as smooth as it could be.

Description: The study of over 4700 years of Chinese history.

Freshman first semester:
The Yellow Emperor, Tang and Yu Dynasty: 2698BC – 2070BC.

Freshman second semester:
Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasty: 2070BC – 771BC.

Sophomore first semester:
Spring and Autumn Period of Zhou Dynasty: 771BC – 221BC.

Sophomore second semester:
The Dynasty of Qin and Han: 221BC – 220.

Junior first semester:
The Three Kingdoms, and Jin Dynasty: 220 – 420.

Junior second semester:
The North and South Rulers and Sui Dynasty: 420 – 618.

Senior first semester:
Tang, Five Generations, Song, and Yuan Dynasty: 618 – 1368.

Senior second semester:
Ming and Qing Dynasty, Kuomintang and Communism: 1368 – present.
