House 323-1

A Sims family inherited their grandma's rundown mid-century bungalow. They tore down all the overgrown vines and scraped and painted all the window casings. They sold some of Grandma's antiques to pay for the vintage-reproduction siding but they couldn't bring themselves to part with the dining set that had been handed down from Great-great-grandma Sim.



Somehow it worked with the 1950's bathroom fixtures and the flat-pack apartment furniture they dragged along from their old place to fill the empty spaces. They even had enough money left over to refinish the wood floors.



For now they can put up with the outdated kitchen. It was hard work but they were glad at the opportunity, with three children and a little one on the way. This bungalow has raised several generations of Sims and there's plenty of room.

I'm not known for my landscaping skills LOL but when I ran across this house by Built4ever @ DeviantArt I got it into my head to build something excruciatingly charming and cottage-y. I spent a scary amount of time trying to beat the roof line into submission (when I stacked the roofs, they cut chunks out of the one below), and while that was happening, somewhere along the way this turned into a bubbajoe lot, clean and playable and totally not quaint at ALL. No side-by-side pics this time but I have not given up, hence the "1" added.

I'm in love with it now, and it sure meets my number one criteria: Would I live in it? Definitely! And I hope your Sims carry on with the renovation.

A big shout-out to all the creators on this one:
I really needed some windows in certain sizes, and I went back and they were THERE! I had somehow missed an update. Tbudgett, wherever you are, I love you. I needed a one-tile matching arch because the two-tile wouldn't fit next to the stairs and leefish somehow looked into the future 5 years ago, read my mind and had it waiting for me. Reikus could have stopped at one or two versions of siding but they had exactly the number of pieces I needed to give this bungalow some visual interest. I adore you ALL!

The Arkelstorp master mesh and recolors didn't package with the lot file. They are in a separate folder in the .zip. Please place in your Downloads before installing the lot.
