Midori Uchi is very loosely based on
this house by
Naikoon Contracting .
To quote the Contemporist,
"Meaning “green home” in Japanese, Midori Uchi features net-zero designs and net-zero capabilities, state-of-the-art energy production and conservation abilities, grey water filtration system, subtle, natural Japanese inspired influences, and the only residential rammed earth wall in urban Metro Vancouver."
My version doesn't have all
that but it is xeriscaped. I really liked how the entry turned out. It feels very authentic to a desert home. This is a very simple house, the first one I built to get a feel for the new building tools and wrap my head around the weird lighting in Oasis Springs. I'm still not sure what color this house is LOL.
My game play style is with cut-away walls and that influences how I decorate. I'm not going to have big pillars or staircases in the middle of my field of view. Tall objects such as mirrors, frigs, dressers and showers will be strategically placed or dispensed with. I could not resist that awesome stove hood just this one time, but mostly I'm going for a clean playable lot that requires a minimum of scrolling, not one decorated as if I'm actually standing in the middle of it.
The back patio is set up for gardening. The dining area has a wonderful panoramic view of the canyons. The upstairs bedrooms have been left unfurnished to keep costs down for a growing family. I hope this lot will suit your gameplay style as well.
Some items on this lot have been resized.
Lot Size: 20x30
