More Light Coming Through Windows

What does this mod do?

This mod lets more light come through the windows for all EPs and SPs, exceptions being the Tear-Stained Glass Window from Late Night and the King Qing's Window from World Adventures.

It always bothered me a bit that some windows didn't give enough light to brighten even a small room and because of that, I seldom used a lot of them or I had to resort to using many windows (which is not all that convenient when on a budget) or the debug lights.

So, inspired by this WCIF thread, I tweaked with the windows lighting data (LITE). As a result, maybe the amount of light coming through some windows might not appear realistic (see attached pictures), though I did that more for the freedom it gave me in choosing exactly the windows I wanted. So yes, at first, I only did this for myself, but why not share if anyone else is interested?

Needless to say, I'm open for suggestions.

How do I use this mod?

This mod is an Override for the LITE resources of the windows in game, meaning it will replace the original lighting data and not add a new version of these windows to your game.
Consequently, you will need to have the EP or SP of the corresponding windows for this Override to work!

I would suggest placing the package(s) file(s) in: \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Overrides

There are two files available:

One file with the merged package for all EPs and SPs
One file with the separate packages for each EPs and SPs
Only use the package(s) if you have the corresponding EP or SP.

Additional information

This mod was created with patch 1.67
This mod shouldn't conflict with any other mods as long as they don't modify the same LITE resources for windows. I'd list them all, but that's 118 files...

Hope this will be useful to some of you!
