Extra extra, I'm back after a stupid long hiatus.

This past fall, my partner and I moved to a new city, started new jobs, and got engaged.

It's been a whirlwind, y'all.

With that being said, I'm incredibly excited to present my first upload for TS4, Church Street Special. And you guys, it's based on my

ACTUAL NEW HOUSE

Why now, you ask? Well, I've been interested in real-life design and architecture for years. Replicating structures from meatspace inside SimsLand has always been super fun and offers unique challenges. And let me tell you, trying to build this house in TS3 was shockingly difficult. Like, exhausting. I would start building, get frustrated, or disappointed by the limits to architecture in TS3, and quit.

So a few weeks ago I decided to give TS4 another try. For the first time in years. Long story short, I'm so much happier with the options and control you have in build mode. And although I do miss Create A Style from TS3 (not to mention all the beautiful, helpful, and practical CC you folks have created for TS3 over the years), I am very pleased with the end result.

TL;DNR:

It's a house! Here's some details.

Lot traits: natural light; homey; and close to good schools.
Fully furnished with 1 bedroom, 1 bath, plus attic/hobby space
Lots of outdoor space, for a smaller lot size
Ground floor apartment is vacant
Absolutely no CC

About the ground floor...

I left the ground floor vacant to keep the house as true to real life as possible. My meatspace/real life house is a renovated Victorian in an older, downtown neighbourhood, where lots of houses like this have been converted into smaller apartments. This is as true to the layout of the real house as I can get.

I've lived here for quite a few months now, but every day I wake up feeling literally in love with our home, and so thankful to live in this neighbourhood. :lovestruc
