The third installment in the Mid-Century Collection, the Cornflower is a long, open bungalow with a sunken/split level living room and den. The house includes a classic mid-century fireplace (base game), large front-facing windows, and a covered breezeway accessible through the kitchen.
I try to make houses that are still playable while following a realistic floor plan, which sometimes means creating a house that's much larger than the original plans. While working on these mid-century projects, I tried to stay true to the exterior shape and aesthetic of the real-life houses, and made the interior floor plan work within those confines. That being said, I was pleased with how the exterior of this house turned out:
This house has a very large living area, and the den could easily be used as an office, family/kids area, or even as formal dining space. Each of the two bedrooms includes what I call a "realistic" closet: two plain doors, just enough room for a rack of clothes on the inside. They were put together with
moveobjects_on and the decorative clothing rack from
Ambitions, so they are just for show.
