Picture it: the hot desert sun beating down on your face, condors whirling up above, an angry mob of nuns chasing you down. What do you need? You need this awning. New, from Shiny Things, Inc., patented state-of-the-art Spanish tile technology to keep you in the dark in even the brightest of climates - no, it wasn't stolen from a convent, please stop asking us that.
This is my first TS2 object upload, and it's reasonably simple, a conversion of the conversion of the modified version of the Spanish-style tiled awning I made for TS4.
To make up for the lack of proper 3D shadows in TS2, I made a wall shadow for the awning that should show up outdoors as well, unlike most object wall shadows. It's not perfect and some windows will show up through it, but in general I think it's much better than having no shadow at all under the awning. Additionally, it can be shifted up and down walls, and its default position is a little higher than wall height to give you maximum flexibility in placement. It's 3 tiles wide and centered on one tile, but you can use the SetQuarterTilePlacement cheat to centre it on two tiles.
It has two recolourable parts, the wood frame and the tiles, which have three recolours each in this download - white, medium and dark wood for the frame, and black, blue and terracotta for the tiles. It's a new mesh that doesn't require any additional content to function.
It can be found under Deco / Curtains for 415 simoleons, I hope you find it as useful as I do!
