Introduction:
The Klyntar, colloquially and more commonly referred to as symbiotes, are a fictional species of extraterrestrial parasitic life forms appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The symbiotes, as their alternative name suggest, form a symbiotic bond with their hosts, through which a single entity is created. They are able to alter their hosts' personalities and/or memories by influencing their darkest desires, along with amplifying their physical and emotional traits and personality and thereby granting them super-human abilities. - Wikipedia page for Symbiotes

This Mod unleashes the Symbiotes of the Marvel Universe into your game, by allowing you to turn your Sims into Symbiotes!
This mod changes the Tragic Clown Moodlet into a Symbiote-themed Moodlet, as well as giving those Sims a whole suite of new Symbiotic powers.

Symbiotes are flavoured as being similar to Vampires, and if you create a Symbiote using an Elixir they will also be a Vampire Sim, however they will have some additional Symbiote Powers, listed later on. Think of Symbiotes as a pseudo-lifestate. Note that in The Sims 3: Supernatural there is a small chance of becoming a Tragic Clown when travelling via the LLAMA. However this mod changes that, instead there is a chance of your Sim having other random effects happen.

Symbiotes are naturally selfish, hungry creatures that feed on the bodies of Humans to maintain their powers. To represent this, any Human Sim that remains in the same area as a Symbiote for an hour will die, as their body is consumed. However, this Consumption does not affect Simbots, Plumbots and most other Supernatural Sims, including other Vampires/Symbiotes.

Becoming a Symbiote:
There are three ways to become a Symbiote. Each of these ways replaces the Tragic Clown Moodlet from The Sims 3: Supernatural. This means that you will not be able to become a Tragic Clown while this Mod is in your game.
  • 1: Create the Origin of the Tragic Clown Elixir at an Alchemy Station. This requires Level 10 in the Alchemy Skill as well as reading its corresponding Recipe Book (the recipe book's name remains unchanged, however the Elixir has been re-named to Black Dew)
  • 2: Purchase the Elixir called Black Dew from an Elixir Consignment Shop for 1000 Simoleons.
  • 3: My SuperHero and SuperVillain Careers will have opportunities that can turn your Sim into a Symbiote, however they will remain in their current Life State. This allows you to create a Symbiote-Hybrid.
Symbiotic Powers:
Strengths:
  • Sunlight Resistance: If you have the mod Enhanced Vampires by Puddingface in your game, Symbiotes will be completely immune to the negative effects of Sunlight, unlike Vampires. I highly recommend that you use Enhanced Vampires alongside this mod, since my mod was designed with that mod in mind.
  • Symbiotic Terror: Symbiotes are highly terrifying and can use fear to terrify Sims into giving them their Plasma: A Symbiote's request to either turn a Sim into a Vampire or to drink the Plasma of another Sim will never be rejected. This allows Symbiotes to easily feed on Plasma without having to befriend the target Sim first, however be mindful that Symbiotes will cause Human Sims to die if they spend too long with them. Note that Symbiotes cannot create other Symbiotes themselves, however they can still bestow the gift of Vampirism on other Sims.
  • Supernatural Fitness: Symbiote workouts are more effective and they resist the effects of fatigue.
  • Symbiote Run: Symbiotes run faster than regular Sims.
  • Vampiric Powers: Symbiotes have all of the strengths that Vampires have as well.
Weaknesses:
  • Vampiric Weaknesses: Symbiotes have all of the weakness that Vampires have as well. This includes needing to drain Sims of their Plasma, as well as a weakness to Sunlight, unless you have Enhanced Vampires by Puddingface in your game.
  • Speed: Symbiotes move by running, however they do not possess the super-fast running speed of Vampires.
  • Body Consumption: Symbiotes are naturally selfish, hungry creatures that feed on the souls of Humans to maintain their powers. To represent this, any Human Sim that remains in the same area as a Symbiote for an hour will die, as their body is consumed. However, this body Consumption does not affect Simbots, Plumbots and most other Supernatural Sims, including other Vampires/Symbiotes. A Sim can avoid having their soul consumed by simply leaving the area where the Symbiote is.



Curing the Symbiote condition:
  • Using a Potent Cure Elixir will cure a Sim of the Symbiote Condition.
  • The Sunlight Charm will cure a Sim of the Symbiote Condition. However please note that they will still have their existing Life State, and certain Symbiote traits (such as Sunlight Immunity) will remain.
Required Packs:
  • The Sims 3: Supernatural Expansion Pack is required.
  • The Sims 3: World Adventures Expansion Pack is required.
  • The Sims 3: Ambitions Expansion Pack is required.
  • The Sims 3: Late Night Expansion Pack is required.
  • The Sims 3: Seasons Expansion Pack is required.
  • The Sims 3: University Life Expansion Pack is required.
  • The Sims 3: Into the Future Expansion Pack is required.
Installation/Other information:
  • To use this Mod, place both Lost_Pantheon_Venom_Symbiote_Mod and Lost_Pantheon_Venom_Symbiote_Mod_OUTFITS Packages in your Packages folder. If the mod isn't working as advertised, try placing it in the Overrides folder to give it a higher level of priority.
  • Only have one Lost_Pantheon_Venom_Symbiote_Mod package installed at a time, as well as the separate Lost_Pantheon_Venom_Symbiote_Mod_OUTFITS package. The "Carnage" Package replaces the standard "Outfits" Package, if you want your Symbiote Sims to look like the Marvel character Carnage instead of Venom, however gameplay is the same as other versions. (The symbiote will be red, check the images of this mod to see what it looks like)
  • The Deadly Spellcasting Duels and Non-Lethal versions of this mod conflict with each other, so only have one in your game at a time.
Other information:
  • This Mod replaces the Tragic Clown, It's So Tragic!, The Sims 4 is Amazing! , The Sims 4 is Dreamy!, and Never Enough Time for The Sims 4! Moodlets. This means that the Sims 4-related Dreams from the Dream Pod will not work as intended by the developers, and I recommend that you avoid using Sims-4 Dreams with the Dream Pod enabled. However, since this requires travelling to the future and fulfilling an Easter Egg, it's unlikely to ever come up.
  • Symbiotes cannot travel on Vacations, to University or to the Future. The in-game reason is that EA does not allow "transformed" Sims to travel to another world. In terms of flavour, we can just assume that travel agencies and universities are too scared of Symbiotes to even deal with them.
  • Although Vampirism is genetic, Symbiote-hood is not.
Mod Conflicts:
This mod will conflict with any mod that uses the following game resources:
  • AlchemyRecipes
  • AncientPortal+CatchABeam_0xc1e2140caeadafc6
  • Buffs
  • BuffTransform
Unfortunately since the Buffs Resource is used by a lot of mods, I suggest placing this in the Overrides folder to see its effects.
  • This mod conflicts with my own Deadly Spellcasting Duels mod, however I have included a version of the Symbiote mod that retains the gameplay effects of Deadly Spellcasting Duels, so you can remove my Deadly Spellcasting Duels mod and replace it with the Symbiote Mod version if you want the functionality of both mods.
  • This mod conflicts with my own Demon Transformation mod
  • This mod conflicts with my own Better Elixirs mod. However, this mod already has all of the functionality of Better Elixirs in it, so you can replace Better Elixirs with either version of the Symbiote Mod and have the same functionality.
