While revamping the face presets in CAS, I discovered that it was possible to delete the existing custom face presets thumbnails to force the game to generate some thumbnails that include the player's current default skin replacement and default eyes. For people who have custom content, this can give a nice updated look to their Create-A-Sim Face Presets. (This affects all ages and both genders, of course)

On top of that, World Adventures presets do not have custom thumbnails and they actually have game generated thumbnails which makes them look out of place. This file replacement kinda aims to bring everything together.

DO NOT PUT THIS IN FILE IN YOUR MODS FOLDER, READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING

- Introduction before downloading

Before I tell you where to put the file replacement there's one thing to understand : There is 2 CASThumbnails.package

1. The first one is situated in the thumbnails folder in your documents folder.

Example of directory : Documents/Electronics Arts/The Sims 3/Thumbnails

2. The second one is situated in the thumbnails folder in the game files folder (usually found in program files).

Example of directory : Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/The Sims 3/Thumbnails

- Where do I put the file that is downloadable ?

Since I modified an original game file package, you would have to put it into the Thumbnails folder situated in your game files folder. Example of directory : Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/The Sims 3/Thumbnails

Back up your original CasThumbnails.package in case if you ever wanna go back to the old original EA thumbnails. After that, you can go ahead and extract the modified CasThumbnails.package inside the folder.

However, if that doesn't concern you, you can just completly replace the original CasThumbnails.package inside the folder.

Note, this will only happen once : when you enter Create-A-Sim, the thumbnails could take a few seconds to generate. Also, keep it mind that it also affects certain CAS items that doesn't have a custom thumbnail and includes the face region. When all those thumbnails finish generating, they will stay the same everytime you re-open the game.

- What about the one CasThumbnails.package that's in the documents folder ?
Example of directory : Documents/Electronics Arts/The Sims 3/Thumbnails

This one is mainly if you want to regenerate your CAS thumbnails.

How ? You just delete that file and upon launching your game, a new file will regenerate

Why ? because otherwise you will have the old generated thumbnails that the game generated for you.

You would want to delete that file for mainly 2 reasons :

1. You've updated one of your default skin replacement or default eyes replacement
2. You've updated your default face presets replacements
