Suburban Manor started out following a traditional house plan with siding, built on a 3/4 foundation. The formal flower beds and some build elements seemed a little out of place with the siding so I used a stone wall instead and now I think the house looks more like a manor.

The floor plan was altered as well to make the kitchen slightly larger and the master bedroom was made smaller in order to add a family room and fourth bedroom upstairs. Switch out the stone for some siding, though, and this house is perfect for a typical American suburb.

Playtest Notes:
The house was playtested with a family of four and their cat for a year.

Layout and rooms work and flow well for sims. The family room and the eat-in kitchen (furnished like a study) were sim favorites.

All furniture can be used and is fully functional.

All the landscaping can be reached and was maintained by hiring the butler and gardener both without help from the sim family.

The game recognizes the door on the garage as the front door. The backyard is fenced off and can't be accessed without going through the house so the newspaper is left on the side walk. If you remove the door to the garage sims recognize the "real" front door and the paper is left on the porch.
