To be totally honest, I personally don't call the fire department when any of my sims' house catches fire nor do I use no fire alarms basically never. (The previous statement does not in any way apply to my IRL dwelling.) Anyway, while testing my other mod, I came to discover that if your sim *coughs* accidentally *coughs* sets their house on fire so much that they becomes a valued acquaintance of the firefighter and you say yes when said firefighter asks to stay over and your sim's house somehow manages to catch fire again, said firefighter will ignore the fire since they're now your guest and no new firefighter will come unless the fire truck is gone (the firefighter is not on the job anymore but the game still checks for the fire truck). So you need to say goodbye to your guest firefighter (which is hard to do since the house is on fire and your sim will drop your command and panic instead, especially harder if the firefighter is in the room with the fire), wait until the friendly firefighter gets in their vehicle and leaves, and then comes back to do their job (I imagine they wouldn't get paid otherwise?).

And so here are 2 mods to mitigate the circumstances:
- firefighterMoreTrucks makes it so that the game ignores the fire truck(s) and only checks if there's at least one firefighter NPC - On the Job? So if your friendly firefighter is too busy eating your food or soaking in your hot tub or simply breathing your air they won't come running to save you or anything (and by you I mean your sims) but there will be a new firefighter who will be sent to come save the day instead.
- firefighterMoreDedicated makes it so that firefighters will fight fires even when not on the job. What this means is that they'll extinguish fires if you let them stay after they finish their job and also even when you call to invite them over normally via non-emergency phone calls, is what this means. They'll just be that dedicated. (They have to be greeted first, though, and a new one will come anyway if the first one doesn't have their fire truck with them.)

The mods can be used separately or together, which I think makes sense, considering the fire department wouldn't know the reason behind the need for another emergency response (maybe the first firefighter slacks off or is too dead to drive their fire truck back or something) and so should send someone else to deal with the situation regardless.

I also recommend my other mod, the one I mentioned was being tested, which allows firefighters to come save your lot on foot if there's not enough space for any fire truck to park on the street.

Some technical info:
- firefighterMoreTrucks works with Pets and up and overrides BHAV Test - NPC or Vehicle on Lot? Group 0x7F95DD73 Instance 0x0000101B
- firefighterMoreDedicated works with Apartment Life and up and overrides BHAV Push - Panic - All Sims Not Interacting Group 0x7FD0A790 Instance 0x0000102C

Note that firefighters not on the job won't prioritize which fire is more life-threatening and therefore more in need of extinguishment. (Normally they fight fires within 5 tiles of any sim first.) That said, I made a point of making sure they are psychic and will know instantly if fire breaks out so unless your sims (and by that I mean you) manage to time things perfectly, there shouldn't be more than one fire anyway.
