Chapter 19 - Asia Straight

-----Dreamer Gallery, 6:00AM-----



“Good morning, Ivy. How was your weekend?” Darren asks his
assistant Ivy Copur as they wait to open the Dreamer Gallery.

“Fantastic. I found a way to killed two birds with one stone,” Ivy says before correcting,
“figuratively of course. You know I would never ever kill an animal.”



“So last Friday, I finally found a roommate. She just moved into town and was in need for
a job” she continues, “Her name is Asia Straight and she’s coming in today for training.”



“She’s going to be doing the front desk stuff so I have more time to deal with our main clients.” Ivy has established
herself as a person in charge of the business portion of the gallery as she lets her boss focus on his creative vision.



“Cool, great,”



“There she is! You’re just in time, Asia.” Ivy jumped in joy. “This is Darren Dreamer, the owner of the gallery.”



“Hello,” Darren greets his new employee, “Nice to meet you. Asia is that right? Welcome
to the team. Just listen to whatever Ivy tells yah. She basically runs this place.”



“Oh, that’s so great. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. I
really need this job and I'm just so glad to be working for you,” Asia smiles at
Darren and turns to her roommate and coworker. “Thanks so much Ivy.”




“You're welcome, roomie. Now you can start helping me pay for rent,”
Ivy Copur replies, “Now come with me, I’ll give you your uniform.”




-----Front Desk of Dreamer Gallery, 3:30PM-----



“Hello. Welcome to the Dreamer Gallery,” Asia Straight automatically says as a
dark hair man walks into the gallery. “How may I be at your assistance today?”



“Hey. You’re new.”



“Yes I am,” Asia says, “How may I help you today sir?”



“I’m looking for Cassandra Goth. I’m her fiancé.” the man says. “I got off work early and thought I drop by.”



“You just miss her, sir. Ms. Goth left about half an hour ago. She said she wanted to go shopping for the baby.”

“Right,” Don says. After looking at Darren’s new employee, he couldn’t resist his nature.



“Listen, you said you were new right? Why don’t I show you around sometimes.”



“Mister Lothario,” she remembers his name from a conversation with Ivy, “Am I correct? Are you trying to hit on me?”

“Nope,” Don says defensively, “I'm just trying to be nice. I know what it's like to feel out of place.”



“Is that so wrong?”



“Of course not,” she tells him, “but I’m not entirely sure that’s entirely your intention,
Mr. Lothario. Plus, my roommate knows her way around Pleasantview. I'll be just fine.”

“Alright. If that's your choice. ”



“Mr. Lothario, I know what you’re up to,” Asia says the the man. “You really don’t
really think that you’re the first married man who’s hit on me before, do you?”



“Hey, I'm not a married yet. Besides, you flattering yourself a bit much
don’t you think?” Don says with a grin. This girl just won't give in.

“You’re gonna have to try way better than that,” Asia says as she
tries to resumes reading the gallery’s inventory, “Mr. Lothario.”



“I'll take that as a challenge, Asia. And please,” he says with a smile, “call me Don.”



“And here’s my number,” he hands her a business card, “call me when you change your mind.”



“Is this guy for real?” Asia thinks to herself. She’s met and fell for men like Don before; the ones who
avoid their commitment issues by playing with the idea of getting involved with a beautiful girl like herself.



But of course, they often come and go. A girl like Asia is just the pit stop for men with
midlife crisis to discover themselves; Men who break her heart because they can’t decide on
what they want in life, men like Don Lothario and of course her former lover, Easton Evans.
