Please note that, as for different vertical heights of surfaces, animation is not perfect (when the sim sets the alarm, his hand hits the air above the clock), but the overall effect is not too bad.
NOTA BENE: you'll need to sell and rebuy alarm clocks, if already present in game, for it to work.
