The Mid-Century Modern Redux is a single-story home with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The architecture and interior design are based on 1950s mid-century modern homes, reflected in the angles, wall-to-ceiling windows, and orderly placement of the landscaping.



A lot of inspiration for the interior design came from 1950s advertisements, especially for the color schemes. I wanted the colors to be fun, bold, distinctly vintage, but not too crazy in the main living spaces. I really liked the blue and yellow palette with red accents, and carried different variations of it throughout most of the house.

While this is not a re-creation of a specific house, I was inspired by my mom's recollection of my grandparents' house in the fifties. My grandmother's peacock blue couch with yellow accents went into the living room, and the wood wall panels were inspired by her grass cloth wallpaper.





The lot's never been lived in, and a clone was tested.
