This is the first Mid Century Modern I ever built for TS2, and it's the last in the series of MCMs I'm presenting here. My neighborhood is full, all my Sims are housed, and, frankly, I'm running out of decorating ideas.

This house is special in that it reminds me, more than any of the other MCMs, of the little 1955 ranch my parents bought when it was still almost brand new, just 10 years old. Of course this house is a little bigger, and we didn't have a pool, carport, or second bath, but the layout is almost exactly the same. And I tried to furnish it the way my mom furnished our house, "genuine naugahyde" and all.

It's a 3BD/2BA home with a large kitchen and connected dining area, living room, carport, patio, pool, jacuzzi, and lots of garden space. I play it with a family of four Sims who enjoy the space and flow.

This is the second house that allowed for the perfect placement of HugeLunatic's Mid Century Modern Fireplace. But as perfect as it is, it's a bit of a pain to play around. I placed the bookcase at the back of the hall, hoping Sims would take their reading to their bedrooms, but they like the living room. If you play from the back of the house, like I do, you'll have to swing around to see Sims when they're in the living room.

As for changes to the original plan, I replaced the bedroom closets with a single closet in the hallway, which works pretty well and saves space. I enlarged the common bath and divided it for privacy, and made the other bath into a master bath. And since I didn't build a basement, I got rid of the stairs. I kept the fence at the front of the house but because it doesn't drop when the walls are down, it can block your view of the street and sidewalk.

I've very much enjoyed sharing these Mid Century Modern homes with everyone here at MTS, and I want to thank everyone who supported and encouraged me while I did so. You made my enjoyment of the project ten fold. Thank you!
