Welcome to Clarens!

(1 cc item)

Edit: You may need Mootilda's mod to be able to use Clarens as a vacation hood. You can find it here: https://modthesims.info/d/420924/fix-subhood-selection.html

Clarens is an empty hood and has no Sims in it at all. If you use Three Lakes with the original vacation locals, they should show up in Clarens. If not, you may need to make your own or use custom locals. You can find some here: https://modthesims.info/d/663027/ultimate-townie-default-replacement.html and here: https://www.pillowfort.social/aelflaed/tagged/aelflaed's%20cc (as well as a tutorial on how to make your own).

Known as the jewel of the Eastern Free State, Clarens is a town in South Africa, settled between two mountain ranges, with lakes and farms and games and beautiful gardens.

Developed when South Africa was a British colony, one can see that Queen Victoria has never completely left the buildings - and situated next to Lesotho, you find many traditional African huts (rondavels - something we all like to rent for holidays).

A small town with 23 art galleries, trout fishing, extreme sport, hiking trails and very close to the Golden Gate National Park, Clarens has a lot to offer tourists. A square in the middle of the town (empty, used for informal markets) is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, guesthouses and shops. The farms on the mountains offer plenty of housing and other entertainment.

Clarens has less than 10 000 permanent residents yet is always buzzing with tourists. It actually snows there too!

There are 8 vacation homes, 12 community lots, 1 secret vacation lot and 11 hotels.
