This mod makes the Look Through telescope interaction (the one that appears during the day) less beneficial. Spying on neighbors or looking at random objects suggests either nosiness or boredom, rather than scientific interest.

With this mod:
  • a Sim who looks through a telescope:
    • no longer gains the logic skill,
    • no longer gains enthusiasm for science (introduced in FreeTime).
  • a Sim can only look through a telescope autonomously when at least one of the following conditions is met:
    • they have at most 2 logic skill points,
    • their fun need bar level is -50* or lower.
  • high enthusiasm for science no longer makes a Sim more likely to look through a telescope autonomously.
* Motive bars range from -100 (empty red bar) to 100 (full green bar).

If you have a pre-release mod named simNopke-dumbSimsLookThrough, delete it before you install this mod.

The alternative version does not prevent Sims from gaining the skill or enthusiasm, but my mod does.

Telescope Mod - Random Neighbours by simler90It can be used with my mod in any order.The conflicting mod prevents Sims from gaining the logic skill and enthusiasm towards science, but it doesn't affect Sims' autonomy.
