This is a config for the neighborhood camera. It allows you to zoom out until you see the whole map and zoom in to easily and accurate place neighborhood objects. You are also able to move to the edge and build houses there. So you have much more space to use than in with the original camera. The default camera allows you only to rotate a bit around the center of the neighborhood, not much to move to the edges. You also can't zoom that much with the default one. The camera has three different main angles:
Far: 1450 units away, 33° field of view
Middle: 200 units away, 20° field of view
Near: 150 units away, 10° field of view
That causes that you have a great overview when you zoom out. Then it zooms quickly in to the mid view which is probably the most time used. If you zoom in you will have a low field of view which is a bit like a binocular. There's a lack of smoothness between the different angles but that should be ok.
Installation:
Place the NeighborhoodCamera.txt in your MyDocuments/EA Games/Sims 2/Cameras/ folder and overwrite the default file. To uninstall and restore the old camera use the NeighborhoodCamera_backup.txt in the zip.
It should be compatible with all game versions!
Please note that you can only have one camera at the same time. Fortunately the game reads the file every time you are changing to the game so you can edit the values of the txt (or replace the file) while you are playing (to test different values it is recommend to play in the windowed mode ).
