Are your Sims always Smustling when they should be sleeping? Do they always turn the stereo on just to walk away from it, blasting their music for all and sundry to hear? Does it really annoy you? Be annoyed no longer with VioletPadfoot's Decorative Stereos!
I finished my Decorative Televisions and was thinking "is there anything else annoying that I could turn into a statue?" Then I remembered the incident near the beginning of my Sims2 days involving the Pleasant Twins and their stereo. They kept turning it on. I'd direct someone to turn it off, and one of the twins would turn it back on. So I turned the music off in my game so that I could play that household with some sanity still intact (that and there seemed to be music playing at other times when there was no music producing object). With this thought in mind, I decided the next project I should work on was making the stereos decorative. Plus it rounds out the electronic annoyances quite nicely.
All the stereos, just like the TVs and Computers pull all textures from their original counterparts, including all recolors (as demonstrated in the pics below). They are also one-tenth the price of the original stereos and found in the Decorative/Sculptures category in the catalog
These files will not crash the base game, but since they pull all textures from the original stereos, they will have no texture without the correct expansion/stuff pack.
Just so you know which file is what, because I changed the file names so they aren't identical to their object name:
BoomboxDecorativeStereo is the Compact Stereo by Lo-Fi Audio and comes from the base game (its the little black one)
FunKadelicDecorativeStereo is the Fun-Kadelic Frequency Stereo from Kauker Inc. and is also from the base game (the white/silver one pictured with the red recolor)
HiFiDecorativeStereo is the Hi-Fi with Vintage Turntable and comes from FreeTime (the rather old fashioned looking 2-tile one)
LuxuryDecorativeStereo is the Pampered Sounds Stereo from GlamourLifeStuff (the one that's a rounded rectangle raised off the ground)
SomaDecorativeStereo is the Soma AudioGeek TK41 Tower System from the base game (y'all should know which one this is, if not it the only 2-tile one I've yet to describe as well as being the one that will soon be replacing the one in the Pleasant house in my game)
TeenDecorativeStereo is the TuneJammy Blammer Boombox from TeenStyleStuff (the little pink one)
THANKS TO:
anobouzu for requesting the TVs. I later found out he/she wanted the stereos as well, but didn't want to be seen as rude asking for so much
Numenor for the AGS
The makers of SimPE, without which, all object creations would be pretty much impossible
Polygon Counts:
The PolyCounts are unchanged from the Maxis originals, so if they seem high, blame Maxis
BoomboxDecorativeStereo: 497 F/ 490 V
FunKadelicDecorativeStereo: 1647 F/ 2564 V
HiFiDecorativeStereo: 1910 F/ 2550 V
LuxuryDecorativeStereo: 2734 F/ 3266 V
SomaDecorativeStereo: 1448 F/ 1955 V
TeenDecorativeStereo: 1462 F/ 1072 V

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.

About Me
VioletPadfoot's Creations
I make things mostly b/c I want them in my game and can't find them elsewhere. So far I know how to make objects, clothing and accessories. I cannot and have no plans as of yet to learn how to make hair or any other Bodyshop content. Mods are also currently beyond my scope of comprehension, but I'm working on them.
I will take requests, but whether or not I choose to fulfill them depends on how easy it would be to make the item (ie. is it knowledge I already have?) or how much I'm willing to learn to make it. Mind you I'm willing to learn a lot. So don't be afraid to send me a PM requesting something.
My policy: You can use any of my meshes or textures anyway you want, but if you base something off of them, or use them in another project, please credit me and provide a link to my MTS profile if possible. Also any part of my work or anything based off of it MUST remain free. This includes putting it in a free section of a pay site. If someone has to pay to get something off that site, I don't want my work there. I'm not making money off this stuff, neither should you.
