The Bayless Plantation or the Marsh Mansion as it has now become known, has fallen from it's once glamourous position in Twinbrook society. Once it was famous for the parties held there in the 1920s, but that fame was swallowed up just as the plantation's land was swallowed by the encrouching swamp, losing it's decadent gardens, crops and slave housing to the murky, muddy waters of the swamp. Luckily for the Bayless family, their house has survived, although the town moved the road and it now passes by the front door, where as it once only came as close as the front gates which were lost along with the original road to the swamp. The current Bayless family have moved the master bedroom into the old dinning room, just so that the ghosts of the glorious past can watch over the peace that darkness brings. One of the only other things the house maintains is it's air of mystery...

This one of the swamp houses I tackled in my favourite neighbourhood of Twinbrook. Just looking at the rear of the original Marsh Mansion you could see the southern warmth that it was aspiring to, before the trashy theme overran it. And so I wanted to offer a glimpse of what might have been, whilst maintaining the existing Marsh Mansion, hence the original bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen at the rear, and the side porch. So here it is.

The house has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 reception rooms and a large attic which you are free to do with as you may, I have placed some suggestions on how it could be used. But you should use and love the house as you desire. The house sits on the 40 by 40 lot; 153 Herschel's Pond Road; The original site of the Bayless' Marsh Mansion. It costs 115984 Simoleons furnished and 76997 Simoleons un-furnished.

I hope you will enjoy the Southern Warmth I have tried to create.
