Inspired by the Bronte Parsonage, I present to you, Hawley Manor. Built in the late 17th century and altered and extended throughout the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, Hawley Manor is a grand yet unassuming Georgian home high on the hills of Cumbria.
Back Story
The year is 1936, and as the newcomer to the close-knit village of Hawley, you're quite the outsider, not having been born in the parish or any of the surrounding parishes, the whole place seems like something out of a novel. Village life for the residents is very gentile and ordinary, people go about their day-to-day lives with as quaint sense of happiness and fulfillment, not wanting for anymore that the quiet lives they have resigned themselves to from birth. The women run the houses and the men work the land and the various stores and establishments within the community. It's rather refreshing in comparison to the hustle and bustle of the urban life that had been getting you worn down so much that your close friend, a doctor, had recommended you to take a break from the city, rent a house in the country and recuperate in time for the next financial year of the bank where you work.
After a picking the quiet village of Hawley from an old railway brochure, you packed up some things, made a few calls and had a house lined up for your stay. At the beginning of your stay, day-to-day life was pleasant and peaceful, you would get up, eat the breakfast served to you by the young housekeeper from the village, and go out for a walk, calling in at the tearoom to get a mid-morning pick-me-up, and should you happen to overhear the gossiping of the ladies of the town who were also there then so be it. Then you'd return to your house for lunch and retire for a nap to an armchair by the window overlooking the rolling hills in the drawing room. The housekeeper would then serve you dinner as the sun began to set and leave you to adjourn to the study with a book and a drink before going to bed.
The pace of life was certainly very different to that of the city. But while out on your walks something began to get at you, it wasn't your amazement at the respectable, if slightly old-fashioned, manner in which the kind-hearted villagers conducted themselves, but rather something more undistinguishable and sinister. One of the residents, with whom you had become very acquainted with at the tearooms; an old spinster, presumably, with a very friendly and pleasant outlook named Victoria Arkwright, seemed to be hiding something. In fact, many of the villagers seem to be hiding something or unwilling to disclose the whole truth about her whenever the topic of conversation drifted onto her. She was a prominent member of village society and you attended tea parties at her house along with various other spinsters, widows and wives in the parish multiple times. Each visit gave you a little more of an incline that there was something more to Victoria that her meek and dainty façade might suggest, a secret in her past that her house and the village guarded well. Hawley Manor had been in her family for generations, each of the principal rooms in her house that you had seen were as if they were stuck in time. It was very much like an old Dickens novel, minus all the grime and dust. Each room, pristine and tidy, had an element of some kind of significance to it. They all reflected the different time periods and fashions that the house had seen, so much so that you could have felt like you were travelling through time simply by going from room to room in the right order. Each reception room had its own spirit and atmosphere; like they were their own person showing off their own personal tastes. "I never feel alone living here" Victoria announced when she noticed you staring at one of the many portraits that adorned the walls. Seeing the warm pink of her cheeks radiate against her white hair and the look of contentedness upon her face, you found yourself wondering whether it was just you or whether there were people moving in the painting hanging on the wall behind her.
The skies suddenly grew dark and clash of thunder and a flash of lightning rang outside. "Oh my, looks like you'll need to hurry if you're going to make it back to your own house before this storm settles in. It's a pity I don't know of anyone in the village with a car who could drive out here to collect you. It's an awful long walk back down to the village, are you sure you'll be alright?" Victoria asked. To which you replied in startled manner that you would indeed be alright in walking back before setting down your cup of tea on the coffee table and bidding your farewell. As you walked down the garden path to the road you felt an odd feeling of being watched, as you reached the road you turned back to see the house looking back, each window seemed like an eye watching upon you eagerly to see what you would do next. A sudden cool breeze rushed at you from down the lane causing you to turn away from the house. Not taking a second glance or giving the matter a second thought, you walked away in a hurried manner as the rumbling in the skies drew closer.
General Info.
The house has five reception rooms, a kitchen, a conservatory, six bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a large attic and cellar, both of which are furnished minimally to give a suggestion of how they could be used.
Lot Details:
The house costs 224,925 Simoleons furnished and 130,106 Simoleons unfurnished and requires a 40 by 40 lot.
Additional Notes
The Late Night EP was only used for the piano and the orchid vase in the Victorian parlour, so it is not essential that you have this EP in order to download this lot. Those two objects are very easy to replace. My suggestion for it you didn't have the Late Night EP, would be to have a chess table where the piano currently is and then replace the orchid with a similar sized object or plant. I would have liked to include the story I had in mind when creating this lot, but at the moment I don't really have time to type it up, but it would have made it more obvious as to why the house is furnished as it is. I designed it to look like a typical English home of its kind during the 1930s/inter-war era.
But I hope you'll still be able to enjoy the lot as I have.

Well, what can i say, I enjoy playing Sims. Please feel free to use and enjoy my creations, all i ask in return is that you do not re-upload them to other sites claiming them as your own. Thank You. I greatly appreciate feedback and hope that my lots are to your liking.
P.S. It would be very interesting to see pics of what you've done with the lots I have created, and the kinds of sims you've got living there, Or if they've been used in stories. But most importantly... Have Fun!!!
