So I stumbled upon a random reddit post about PlantSims that brought into perspective how weird PlantSim needs are, since they don't really get the same attention as regular needs in game, which in turn lead me to remember how many videos I've seen of people screaming at how quickly needs decay for PlantSims as more and more people try the new scenario...

In short, well, this is a very small mod (with a bonus reward trait because PlantSims really get the short end of the stick in this game...)

Requires XML Injector and will not work without it.

Please read carefully as there are 3 versions, and each will affect the Water and Hunger needs of PlantSims differently.

The decay rate of Water is 0.0694, while Hunger decays at a rate of 0.2083. Since all I did was add a buff rather than edit the original tuning, I can't predict the outcome if you are using other mods that might edit the tuning itself, but I'll give estimates for if you are only using this mod.

  • Will apply a multiplier of 0.25 to the decay rate of the Water and Hunger needs for PlantSims only.
(Turns the decay rate for Water from 0.0694 to 0.01735 and the decay rate for Hunger from 0.2083 to 0.052075)

PlantSimTweaks_50
  • Will apply a multiplier of 0.5 to the decay rate of the Water and Hunger needs for PlantSims only.
(Turns the decay rate for Water from 0.0694 to 0.0347 and the decay rate for Hunger from 0.2083 to 0.10415)

PlantSimTweaks_75
  • Will apply a multiplier of 0.75 to the decay rate of the Water and Hunger needs for PlantSims only.
(Turns the decay rate for Water from 0.0694 to 0.05205 and the decay rate for Hunger from 0.2083 to 0.156225)

(TL;DR: 25 makes the largest impact while 75 makes the least.)

Remember this is a buff injected to the PlantSim trait so it won't conflict with anything that edits the needs themselves, but the eventual decay rate will vary if you use any mods that affect needs decay.

YOU CAN ONLY USE ONE VERSION

On top of that, I included an addon, compatible with whichever version of the actual mod you choose. PlantSims don't have a Bladder need since that commodity is blacklisted and basically replaced by Water, so they can't benefit from Steel Bladder. Sooo

Addon: Steel Xylem, for PlantSims only. Much like Steel Bladder, it zeros out the decay of the targeted need, in this case Water, and can be purchased as a reward trait for 5000 points as with the bladder trait for human Sims.
