School hours, Teen Job hours, & Homework Tweaks

If you're like me and have always found the school hours to be way too short, then you've come to the right place!


Changes:

- Children now have school from 8AM to 4PM, and they don't have school on Wednesdays.
- Teenagers now have school from 8AM to 5PM, and they don't have school on Wednesdays.
- Teen job hours have been adjusted to accommodate this change.
- Homework now only takes 20 minutes to complete instead of the default 1 hour.


Details:

For context, in my country, elementary schoolers usually go to school from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and high schoolers usually go to school from 8AM to 5PM, sometimes even later! (Yep, I don't miss that.) We don't have class on Wednesdays until we're in middle school when we start having class on every Wednesday morning as well.

I wanted my game to reflect that schedule so it feels more aligned with my own experiences... Though I had to remove Wednesdays for teenagers as well since I couldn't give them different hours for only that day, and it was better to just free their Wednesdays altogether so they can have a midweek break to catch up on homework and, you know, live a little, lol.

Because of the longer hours, I adjusted the motive decay at school so they don't come back home completely exhausted. I've slowed down the Fun decay the most, it's still somewhat low when they come home but the bar's still in the yellow area which I think is the sweet spot.

I also adjusted the Teen job hours (which changes the Elder job hours by extension, if that matters). Most teen jobs now start at 7PM and end at either 9PM or 10PM. The only exception to this is the Criminal career, they can end their shift at 11PM. Most of the jobs are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I wanted teen jobs to be more of a challenge for my Sims aiming to be Overachievers, so the Level 2 of each job is slightly harder with 3 hours of work instead of 2, the point being to make it feel earned to reach the "top" of each teen career.

Lastly, I've tweaked the homework to make it shorter to complete, since Sims will already spend so much of their day at school, it felt fair to reduce it. Their homework now takes 20 minutes to complete instead of 1 hour.

Each file works independently, though the School hours and Teen Job hours work best together if you're planning on giving your teens jobs

Also, in the Teen Job hours folder inside the .zip, you'll need to pick just ONE file (depending on what packs you have installed, since Seasons and Free Time both add careers to the game).
