Chapter 20

‘Family reunion?!? But grandma…’



Shadee groaned loudly and stared at her feet. She really disliked family reunions just because she had more relatives than she could handle and cousins of all ages, even unborn ones. They were all loud and cheerful, always getting in her way when she wanted to swiftly leave the room and lock herself up in her quiet dormitory.



‘You’re going off to college tomorrow! Do you expect us to just sit around and do nothing to celebrate that or say goodbye? You won’t see us for a few years…Okay apart from your free time when you’ll probably pay us a visit.’ Gypsy crossed her arm and measured her almost adult granddaughter from head to foot. When had the summer holidays gone by? Just yesterday she had come from her prom, all flushed and happy. ‘If it makes you more comfortable, you could invite Sebastien. He seems to be quite a down-to-earth young man.’

Shadee’s head shot upwards and a big grin spread across her face.



‘Really? I’m gonna go give him a call then!’ she rushed up the stairs to her room without protesting any more and grandma Gypsy returned to the kitchen where she was cooking all kinds of delicious meals for that evening.
