Aussie Perpendicular - Basegame Shrunk Lot for Testing
* EXPERIMENTAL *
This is a test lot. Only download this if you are willing to provide informative feedback in case anything goes wrong. Back up your game before installing it. Do not use this lot for your favourite family in your favourite neighbourhood. Do not redistribute this lot.
This lot was shrunk with v1.0.0.13 of the LotAdjuster, which allows perpendicular walls at the edge of a lot. Version 1.0.0.13 fixes a number of bugs that have appeared since releasing the LotAdjuster (thanks Mootilda). We are now testing this version in the hope of releasing an upgrade. Plasticbox's earlier test house using this version is here, no problems so far. (Thanks for pioneering again, Plasticbox.)
If you are interested in helping, please report any crashes, irregularities etc in this thread.
The ground floor of this lot is built edge-to-edge on the left and right sides, so it will look decent among your terraced housing areas. There is a single tile of 'dead' space on those two sides, blocked by walls perpendicular to the edges. The upper floor is set in from the verandah, but the verandah railings go to the edges of the lot.
A clone of the house has been playtested for 24 hours.
Known Issue - because of the tiny front yard space, sims may magically put their mail into the sealed alleys at the sides of the house, and then complain that they can't get in there. Sorry, I'll leave more room at the front next time. To fix, you could add a door into the alley, or delete a wall segment at one end.
Please note: If you want to make structural changes to this lot, be aware that the last two tiles from the edge are unbuildable in exactly the same way as on all other lots. This includes the outermost tiles of the house in this case. You cannot modify the left and right outside walls (parallel to the lot edge), the "fake" front and back walls, the roof, or floor tiles on the edges. However, you can *delete* all of that if you wish. You should be able to modify all inside walls. Using the shift key may assist in altering floortiles on the edges.
Description:
Situated in the centre of a thriving country town, this building was originally home to two small stores, with offices above. More recent owners have refurbished it as a single residence. It now boasts living areas on the ground floor, with two double bedrooms and a full bathroom above.
The original, Federation-era, architecture has been preserved, with sturdy stone and wrap-around verandahs to keep the interior cool in the Australian heat. The frontages on the ground floor are still in evidence, although the extra shop door has been removed. The left-side shop is now the kitchen and dining room, with the lounge on the opposite side. The back hall contains a small bathroom, and has access to the yard at the rear - not much used in recent times, but a good place to keep the dustbin, out of the reach of nasty neighbours.
How to test / what to watch out for:
- Please use a freshly made CAS sim for testing
- Watch out for odd/misplaced/broken animations with objects that are near the lot edges.
- Can sims use the edges of the lot normally?
Known issues:
For a list of known issues that can occur on small lots (or any lot at all) that have nothing to do with the shrinking, please see this post

Thanks to Plasticbox, whose words I have stolen again. It seems silly to re-invent the wheel.
Thanks to Mootilda for giving us the shrinking technology, and to all the stalwart testers. You know who you are!
Thanks to Numenor for the BasegameStarter Pro.

Install Instructions
1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
