It was the nicest little whorehouse you ever saw. It lay about a mile outside of the city limits, Sheriff Jack-Roy picked it out for Miss Willie-Jean in 1910 and she moved here with her girls from above the hardware store on Main Street. Oh he little house lay in a green Texas glade where the, trees were as cooling as fresh lemonade. Soft summer wind held a trace of perfume, and a fan was turning in every room.

Right from the beginning the little house was kind of special, like a home away from home, Miss Willie-Jean put a pianola in the parlour to break the ice. A fella could ask a girl to dance, or if he held back she'd ask him, and pretty soon they'd get a little business going. It wasn't long before the little house became one of the better known pleasure palaces in all of Texas. So much so, that the soldiers who visited in WW1 sent their sons back in WW2. The hospitality and friendliness never changed, and neither did Miss Willie-Jean's strict set of rules. She like her "ladies", as she called them, to treat the gentlemen real good, but never in an unladylike way. She insisted that they check their men for the clap and wash them off with soap and warm water. Some of the fellas claimed that that was the best part.

It was only during the hoover depression that the little house ran into a spell of tough times. Miss Willie-Jean put a jukebox in the parlour to stir up trade. But it wasn't always easy in them days to come up with hard cash. So, for a while, as the story goes, the girls began accepting poultry in trade; one bird = one lay. And that's how the place got its name; 'The Chicken Ranch'

Inspired by the film set created for the 1982 film 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas', I decided to recreate 'The Chicken Ranch' as it first appeared newly built. Before it was heavily repainted for later scenes when Miss Mona (Dolly Parton) took over and repainted everything. I had to make a few amendments here and there to make the interior fit in the exterior.
The set has been used for a whole manner of things since its initial creation, its more recent appearances include Desperate Housewives, Murder, She Wrote, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Beethoven's 5th and CSI where it appeared as the house of a murdered family in the episode 'Gumdrops' and then later on as the childhood home of Dr Livingston's arch nemesis Nat Haskell. All of which have seen the ol' gal slightly altered and changed.

I wish I could buy the set and have it dismantled and rebuilt/restored to its former glory on a much more picturesque plot of land in the Texas countryside. Alternatively, the house used for the outdoor scenes/distance shots can be found here in Pflugerville, TX.(just north of the s-bend to the east of where the map takes you initially)
Lot Info:
The house is built on a 40 by 40 lot, costing 202,123 Simoleons furnished, and 130, 398 Simoleons unfurnished. It has been thoroughly play-tested and upgrades have been made to all of the fireplaces to make them fireproof. Some of the toilets have also been upgraded to make them unbreakable.

I should like to say a big thank you to those of you have helped with feedback on this and my other lots over at the Creator Feedback Forum! My lots wouldn't look as good as they do without you guys and gals!
