Americana - 2br, 2ba (No CC) **TS3 for TS2**

The Americana is probably my favourite lot in all of TS3. When I recently re-installed TS2, I decided to set about building it for my Sim. Unlike the oodles of CC I have installed for TS3, I don't have any installed for this game, so my aim is to keep all my TS2 content CC free.

Decor
As always, some objects do actually move from game to game. Where I couldn't find the same objects/decor pieces, I looked for the closest alternative that a CC free game would allow.

Diagonal Objects/Known Issues
For a full list of what does and doesn't work when placed diagonally, you might want to check out this thread by Shiny Guns.

Turns out that the single bed on the right of bedroom #2 was getting blocked by the end table, while the left was still perfectly accessible. I've since repositioned the end tables and tested a copied lot in-game, so anyone downloading as of this note will have clear access to the bed on the right.

For those who have already installed the lot, you'll just need to repsition the end tables as such:


To make the adjustment you just need to hit CTRL+SHIFT+C and enter these commands:

  • moveobjects on
  • boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation on
  • boolprop snapobjectstogrid false

The burglar alarm at the front of the house may not work as it's not snapped to the diagonal wall. This was place as such for TS3 decor accuracy, though the kitchen alarm is snapped so your Sims will still be able to catch out those burglars. There's always the option to move the front alarm - I just can't bring myself to do so. Scrambles my brain!

While the side shot of the house shows a little Sim mooching about, she was loaded into the lot after it was packaged in order to get screenshots sans grid lines.
