Use Inaccessible Bed

With this mod sims will be able to use beds blocked by objects or placed by walls - sleep, relax, jump and make them

It's inspired by Inge Jones' mod, but very different from it. Sims won't perform getting into bed in the wrong place. The mod uses complex routing and jumping animations for smoother look, even though not perfect

Updates
Oct 2025: fixed a rare bug when a sim with the absolute lowest energy (-100) would pass out on the floor instead of getting in a bed (the version merged with the Unmade Bed mod didn't have it)


I made this with my Unmade Bed mod and there's a combined version on that page. I recently updated that mod, check out the changes if you like, it's completely reimagined There's also an edited ACR file, although, it's currently only available with the Unmade Bed mod. I separated Use Inaccessible Bed here for those who don't want the other features.

Unfortunately, the game doesn't consider vertically shifted beds inaccessible. Sims think they can walk up to it with no problem, so they do all the normal animations and then snap into the bed. Haven't found the solution to this, yet

Choose one file for your game version
I only tested the AL version. This mod is definitely not for bare base game, but if you have a few packs, it'll probably work fine. Feel free to report any issues

Known Conflicts
- abortbedmaking - included in my mod
- bedsidefix - you only need this fix if you have BV and don't have any of the later packs (FT, AL or M&G); if you keep it, make it load before my mod
- ijUseInaccessibleBeds - remove it if you want to use my mod
- getdressed - remove it if you want to be able to make inaccessible beds; or you can get the unmadeBed_useInaccessibleBed_changeClothes version
- Unmade Bed mod - if you want both features, don't download the file from this page and get the unmadeBed_useInaccessibleBed_AL instead

May clash with other mods that override the same resources
