This is a pack of 2 mods that fix and improve autonomy of bathing toddlers and babies.

Baby/toddler bathing autonomy fixes mod
This mod fixes various issues with baby/toddler bathing autonomy. It also restricts player actions to some extent.
With this mod:
  • a Sim can no longer autonomously try to bathe a baby/toddler:
    • who is carried by someone else.
    • with a dirty diaper.
      According to the logic of the game, bathing a baby/toddler with a dirty diaper doesn't change the diaper.
    • who doesn't belong to their household and isn't their relative. Nannies, butlers, and apartment neighbor nannies can only bathe a baby/toddler as part of their duties.
      In an unmodded game:
      • a toddler could be bathed also by nannies, butlers, apartment neighbor nannies, and non-relatives who had at least a weak positive relationship with them,
      • a baby could be bathed by anyone.
    • in a bathtub or a sink in an apartment of someone that Sim barely knows.
      In an unmodded game, this rule was supposed to apply to bathtubs, but it didn't work.
      Use Apartments - Auto STR-LTR Check Fix by simler90 to ensure the game correctly checks relationships.
  • a Sim can no longer autonomously:
    • try to bathe a toddler whose hygiene need level is above -20*.
      In an unmodded game, this rule applied to babies only, so Sims tended to bathe toddlers for no good reason.
    • initiate social interactions with a bathed toddler/baby.
      In an unmodded game, this rule applied only to older Sims who bathe themselves.
  • a baby/toddler who is outside of the lot no longer appears on the bathing interaction list.
    It can happen only if you use mods that allow babies/toddlers to be out-of-lot.
  • dirty diaper lock version only:
    • an interaction of bathing a baby/toddler is disabled if they have a dirty diaper.
* Motive bars range from -100 (empty red bar) to 100 (full green bar).

Use only one version of this mod at a time.
A less extensive version of this mod used to be a part of a pre-release mod named simler90-simNopke-lessFailInteractionsWithBabyToddler.
Before you install this mod, update the pre-release mod if you use it.
Bathing by nanny fixes mod
This mod fixes several minor issues with nanny, butler, and apartment neighbor nanny behaviors.
With this mod, a nanny, a butler, or an apartment neighbor nanny who wants to bathe babies/toddlers as part of their caring duties:
  • no longer ignores the baby/toddler they are carrying.
  • chooses first the baby/toddler with the lowest hygiene level.
    In an unmodded game, the hygiene need level of one baby/toddler was incorrectly compared to the hunger need level of another. As a result, sometimes a baby/toddler who needed a bath didn't get one.
  • can no longer choose a baby/toddler with a dirty diaper – it must be changed first.
    According to the logic of the game, bathing a baby/toddler with a dirty diaper doesn't change the diaper.
  • can no longer choose a toddler who drinks Smart Milk, just as they can't choose a toddler drinking normal milk.
    This issue was already fixed in Apartment Life and Mansion & Garden Stuff, but not everyone has these packs.
  • can no longer choose a bathtub, a tub-shower combo, or a sink that is in an inaccessible room (only if you have Bon Voyage, FreeTime, Apartment Life, or Mansion & Garden Stuff installed).
  • no longer ignores some tub-shower combos if there's a bathtub on the lot.
  • closest object version only:
    • chooses the closest available bathtub, tub-shower combo, or sink based on its distance from the baby/toddler.
      In an unmodded game, the distance doesn't matter.
Use only one version of this mod at a time.
Nannies, butlers, and apartment neighbor nannies can also give babies and toddlers baths autonomously, outside of their caring duties. To prevent them from doing this, I strongly recommend using the baby/toddler bathing autonomy fixes mod.
If you have a pre-release mod named simler90-simNopke-smarterBabyToddlerBathingByNanny, delete it before you install this mod and use the closest object version.

  • the fix for ignoring tub-shower combos,
  • the closest object check.

* The file names of the patches start with z to make sure they load after both my mod and conflicting ones if they're all in the same folder.
