Background
Skating was introduced in Seasons, and aside from clogging a Want slot with its associated Wants being the worst for poor choice of guardian functions , the objects associated with them are never good to begin with - they waste a lot of space and cost a lot for wasting a lot of space, yet cannot provide anything a TV cannot, and in some cases, can, provide...

Skate together and earn relationship points as Sims show off. Sims in this mod do not stop at rolling\gliding by doing nothing, they will perform the "Jump" or "Spin" interactions on their own if they have suffice Body and\or appropriate enthusiasms. And by doing 2 out of 3 possible moves skating, they will earn STR with everyone else on the rink!

The actual reason I made this mod was because of how "Twirl With" caused falling in love, ignoring the setting from kestrellyn's Found Family mod... And also because close relatives can do so with no issue aside from getting clowned on for looking so incestuous! Now, "Twirl With" will only advance the status of those already having a crush, and can be safely done with friends, stepsiblings, and distant relatives.



Features
Most changes are found in the core file from the main download.
  • Skating together is now a social activity as Sims can earn relationship and Social by performing a move.
  • "Jump" and "Spin" interactions boost STR to-and-from the performing Sims and others in the same rink.
  • "Twirl With" is no longer romantic and does not needlessly create Crush and Love statuses.
  • Sims can automatically perform the "Jump" and "Spin" interactions on their own.
  • Both interactions are more likely with at least 3 Body for "Jump" and 5 for "Spin".
  • "Jump" is also more likely with at least 2 points of Fitness\Sports enthusiasm.
  • "Spin" is also more likely with at least 3 points of Music and Dance enthusiasm and the number of skaters.
  • If they still do not "Jump" or "Spin" as often as you'd like, direct them so or edit the BCON.
  • Autonomy for skating has been increased and can be boosted furthur with appropriate seasons.
  • Sims no longer slip and fall randomly - they must have low Body or high fatness to do so.
  • "Twirl With" uses my scoring method and thus is more difficult to be accepted - try outgoing partners with high Music and Dance enthusiasm.

Other modules cover minor changes and are included for convenience. These are cheaper skating rinks, which will now cost from 4,000 to 7,000, and old private BCONs covering motives and skill gains.


WantsRestriction_SkatingMarcoPolo
This is an optional download containing components for WantTrees.package. The files inside suppress the "Go Ice Skating", "Go Rollerblading", and "Play Marco Polo" Wants from appearing at all.

These Wants have poor or no guardian functions at all and thus are liable to clog up a Want slot, although it is now possible to give them new ones via HeathenSimmer's methods (link in Credits).

The files may contain edited Wants, such as "Water Balloon Fight" being boosted to give 1,000 points.

Custom installation is needed - the guide is included in the file. Also, you can learn more from SnorkackSearcher (link in Credits).



Issues
Sims may exit the rink before or after "Twirl With". It is not certain if this issue originates from this mod or has been presented with the default game.

There is no kissing animation. If anything, the animation differences between friends and lovers may be none at all.
