A friendly family house on a 1x2 lot, furnished for 2–3 sims, with one more spare bedroom. It has a fireplace, a fenced-in garden with terrace, and room for one rotated driveway in front of the house. My tester sims managed to raise 3 kids in here (i.e. a total of five sims -- I wouldn't normally have tried this, but the silly sims decided to have twins on the second try ..).

1 x double bedroom
2 x single bedroom (1 empty)
2 x bathroom
1 x kitchen
1 x dining/living room

All basics included plus an easel, a stove and a fireplace. There is quite a lot of space in the living room where toddlers can play. Thoroughly playtested in the Base Game.

This lot is shrunk with Mootilda's LotAdjuster (v1.1, available here on mts2) – you can easily expand the lot with that if your sims want a bigger garden.
