The Phoenix - Starterish

I needed more affordable housing in my lower-to-middle class neighborhood but the only property left was one of the larger lots on which the house had burned down. Fortunately, the detached garage was left standing so I decided to renovate it into a little apartment and fill it with garage sale finds and thrift shop treasures.



This is a great location for a couple that plans to expand. My family of astronauts lives here and there's plenty of room out back for them to tinker on their rockets. The matriarch had to sleep on the street or crash on her friends' couches for a couple weeks to earn enough money for the purchase but now the family's doing well and saving to open their spaceport. In my personal copy, I expanded upstairs first and made some bedrooms on the second story for the kids. Their rockets will rise upwards from the ashes of the old estate.

I labelled this "starterish" because with a little editing, you can get the price down. Clear the weeds from the lot and sell the antique stove for a cheap one. If you're in a bind, the art wall can go. Last resort, delete the interior wall and door. This lot plays just fine as a single room but the only way I could get the art wall lit nicely was to place the lamps on that wall.



There's a lot of CC. If you want to take some of it out, the game will remove the items from the lot for you. I've tested this in my own game without problems so there's no longer a reason to post an unfurnished version. You could have a lot of fun furnishing this garage with your own finds, but isn't that concrete floor to die for!

Inside the 7zip you will find files with extensions .bpi, .blueprint and .trayitem These go in your Tray folder. Place the lot from inside the lot in build mode with bb.moveobjects off . If the sofa cushions disappear, look underneath the couch. They just need repositioning.

This lot is so small it doesn't have room for a bookshelf so I highly recommend one of the Readable Books by plasticbox here at MTS (not included). It goes on the TV stand which has a lot of slots. Alternately, you can buy the books you need and sell the bookshelf back, keeping the books on the stand or in inventory.
