Less Shiny Metal Roofs

Two roof edits to make the Maxis metal roofs less/not shiny: an override for the “My Own Corrugated Castle” roof that makes it completely unshiny, and a less shiny version for the “Sheet Metal” roof.





Because “corrugated” and “glossy” are two different concepts.


These are MATD overrides/edits that modulate the specular strength (plus custom catalogue entries and strings for the sheet metal one); everything else is unchanged. All colour variants of the original roofs are included, I only don’t upload screenshots of every single one since the effect is always the same.


If you want different degrees of shininess, you can easily edit that yourself:
  • open the package in s4pe, select the first MATD, hit “Grid”
  • in the window that opens, hit “Expand All” and scroll to the “0x2CE11842 (Specular)” entry
  • in the three fields below, change the numbers from 0 or 0,1 to whatever amount you want (the original value was 0,5)
  • Hit “Commit”. Repeat for the other MATDs.
