I LOVE The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I've read it at least seven times. I love the old movie with Robert Redford. I love the new movie with Leonardo DiCaprio. I was scrolling through a fav house blog- Hooked on Houses and found an entry on the amazing sets found in Baz Luhrmann's Gatsby. In the story, Daisy Buchanan's cousin, Nick, rents a cottage on the shore of Long Island, next door to Jay Gatsby's massive manse to decadence. The cottage was adorable and inspiring, and so I present: Nick's Cottage, a small and lovely Arts and Crafts cottage, circa 1920.









The cottage has a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a great room. It has a side porch, and gracious and abundant landscaping, as befitting a former grounds keeper's cottage. Since Nick is an inspiring writer, there is a desk with a view, and lots of books and bookcases. The cottage is base game, with no cc included. The pictures show 5 pieces of decor cc from Around the Sims, and also 5 items from TS3 store (2 free items, a birdbath and 2 sets of curtains). The extra cc/ store items are decor only, and the cottage is fine and functional without it. I uploaded the cottage without the extra decor items, so if you want them, you will need to place them yourself. Links and additional info is available below. The fireplace was upgraded to fireproof, after my tester sim had a fire two minutes after moving in. There is a surprise book waiting on the coffee table. The cottage was built in Roaring Heights.
