Description
Have you ever noticed how the Libraries in the Base Game are the only ones to be stocked with skill books? If so, you're not going mad.
It turns out that the base game Libraries feature Debug bookshelves that cannot be purchased from the catalogue in normal gameplay that feature their own unique tuning so that they come pre-stocked with level-one skill books. (As well as a selection of "emotional" books and three Toddler books.) No other object in the game has this tuning.
This new set of books will allow you to decorate your Libraries as you please and so long as you include at least one of these in your build, your Libraries will be automatically stocked with one of every level-one skill book available in game*.
Info
This mod does two things.
First, it adds a new purchasable set of decorative books that behave like a bookshelf. They come in a selection of 17 different swatches featuring a combination of single colour or mixed colour variations. They cost 75 simoleons and can only be purchased on Library and High School Lot types within the Library Objects and High School Objects catalogue sorts! If you comment asking why you can't find these in your regular catalogue then I will assume you have not read this important bit. This is by design, as I felt making them available on all Lot types was cheaty for Residential Lots and it actually gives you more of a reason to get your Sims to visit Libraries or follow your Teens to school if you don't want your Sims to purchase the skill books themselves.
Secondly, it overrides the "object_bookshelf_library" tuning and will conflict with any other mod that does the same. This is the tuning that the Debug bookshelf and these new decorative books use but it doesn't apper to have been updated in a while as a lot of the skill books from the game are missing. I have updated it to include every level-one skill book available in the game so far. If you don't own a pack, it doesn't matter as the game will just skip it.
UPDATED Oct 20th 2023 to show up in the High School BB as suggested by Hollow Simmer.
Notes
*Not all skills in the game have skill books.
I'm not sure if the books listed under "EMOTIONAL" are ones that Sims can write when in specific moods or if reading them is supposed to put the Sim in the related mood. In my testing of a Sim reading them they just behaved like regular books.
