Background
cyjon is one of my favorite old time modders of Sims 2. The Commercial Buffets mod has helped me a lot as the basis to incorporate money making with owned business features. Working on Jacky93's food stands provided furthur drive to perfect cyjon's mod.

I love to see a big variety of eatery, so turning buffet tables into an alternative to restaurants and BV food stands is the primary aim of this mod. Buffet tables in this mod have expanded functions , such as the ability to serve individual platters, disallowing platters on community lots, and putting away a dish directly as a leftover.

As this mod has its basis from my edits to Jacky93's food stands, so in turn, I have adapted her works to the feature of this mod. They do not function differently from the original - the coding has been streamlined. If anything, the biggest change is the feature of self-deleting plates, to make her food stands effectively maintenance-free!


Features
Note that this mod only changes the functions of 2 Maxis buffet tables: the Whatay Buffet and the Bottomless Pit Buffet. Buffet tables by default barely use their Semi-Globals (unusual of Maxis ), so all CC tables will be mostly unaffected, and will have to be edited individually, whether by requests or my own interest.

General
  • Food from buffet tables and kiosks cost money to take on community lots, businesses and hotels.
  • Food from buffet tables and kiosks cost higher the more fulfilling it is - Turkey and Pork Chops will cost more than Chef Salad, and in turn Gelatin.
  • Buffet tables and kiosks cost customers and profit the business owner when done so, as per cyjon's original design.
  • Buffet tables behave differently based on the lot types.
  • Food can be served and cleaned up on platter basis.
  • Food remaining is shown on the "Clean Up" interaction.
  • Food dishes can be stored as leftovers directly from the tables, albeit a dish per interaction.
  • Food from kiosks have "self-deletion" and "instant clean up" features - they disappear almost immediately after consumption or attempting to clean them up.
  • New interaction - "Clear Tablewares", click on it to instantly remove all emptied or spoiled dishes, coffee mugs, espresso cups, and keg cups on the lot.
  • Available on hotels, community lots and owned businesses, including home businesses.
  • On owned business, each object removed costs 1 Simoleon.

Other Changes
The file zBW-SelfDeletingDishes.package is found in the main download, but predominantly used by Jacky93's food stands. It allows her food plates to delete themselves automatically.

The optional UnrestrictedMiniFridge.zip allows leftovers to be put away on mini fridges. The module also unlocks features of the normal fridge, such as less restricted cook types and the ability to retrieve a leftover.

Addtionally, the _KidsRights.package contains the features of Blueybre's More Fridge Rights for Kids! mod, allowing kids to retrieve ready-to-eat food from the mini fridges as well as fetching baby bottles without issue.

Issues
Most Semi-Global functions are new and individual buffet tables have to switch to them to work. CC buffet tables will not have any new functionalities if not adapted to this mod.

Sims may not take distance into account when putting away leftovers. Best seen when a normal and a mini fridge are located far apart.

The effect of Wholesale perk has not been tested yet.

Buffet tables placed before installation will throw out an error once upon loaded. After a save, they will work normally.
