No Auto-Placing Venues

I'm sure everyone knows the lot auto-placing. That wonderful feature that allows commercial lot types from later packs to automatically appear in the earlier worlds whenever you start a new save.

Too bad it doesn't work that well.

Buildings placed on too big lots. Buildings facing away from the road. Lots not matching the style of the world.

So with that in mind, I decided to make a mod that will stop the auto-placing feature from initialising with a new game. Absolutely no new lots will be placed on random lots.

Update 06/06/26: It was pointed out that Appaloosa Plains has perfectly serviceable lots from Ambitions and Late Night, so I added those back to the auto-placing. In a separate option for those who want it.

Installation: It's a game mod, it goes into Mods/Overrides

Versions:
  • "No Auto Venue Placement" will stop auto-placement of all lots, no exceptions.
  • "No Auto Placement + Festivals Left" will allow for Festival lots, since all those are just remakes of lots already placed in various worlds, but will still stop all other lots from spawning.
  • "No Auto Placement + Festivals + AP lots Left" will leave the Festival lots plus the bespoke Ambitions and Late Night lots made for Appaloosa Plains, since those actually fit the town, but will stop any later lots from spawning.
Pick only one version!

Note! For some reason, EA did not mark Festival lots for Monte Vista and Aurora Skies for auto-replacement. So, even if you go with the second version of the mod, they will not appear automatically. It will just stop all other lots from appearing.
