Newman's POV Cont...
Now why the long suffering look?
That happened so long before I met you and Remy. The woman meant nothing to me.
Ralph, Sue, and I were raised in the streets of Hawthorne.
We had to pool our resources to survive.
I might have kept myself warm at night by sharing her bed, but that was so long ago.
Once I left Hawthorne, I left Chester Hackenbush behind me forever.
I’d never have contacted Ralph again if I hadn’t needed him to do the more unpleasant tasks that were sometimes necessary.
Stop it! Stop it!
I had no idea it would be Reg that would find Sue’s body!
When Reg introduced Sue to Helen. He mentioned he was working for me.
I knew it’d only be a matter of time before the skank would try to contact me.
Sue wanted to know where her brother was.
They were never even close!
In fact, if I had ever asked Ralph to shoot her, he would have done it for free!
I told her I had no idea.
Then she had the nerve to suggest that I could do more for Reg.
I’ve already done ten times more than
she ever did!
Sue also had a list of demands for herself.
She threatened to call The Intruder and give them the low down on my pre-acting days.
I told her I’d think about it and hung up on her.
When the hag sobered up, she must have realised that my silence could only mean one thing.
She became paranoid and shut herself up in that tin house of hers.
I have it on good authority that trailer’s aren’t as easy to break into as one might believe.
I had to take matters into my own hands.
I went under cover of night. I was thankful for all the weeds that she’d allowed to grow up around the place.
When Sue peeped out the front window, I waved the money and a bottle of scotch under her nose.
Greed won over caution and she readily let me in.
I assumed a neighbor would eventually get curious and check in on her.
I swear to you Mary, I would never have put Reg through that!
I truly felt bad. I
have tried to help him through it!
I was angry that he double crossed me with Helen, but I was long over it by then.
I swear, I would have stopped him if he'd mentioned he was going over there!
