Brie Newman's POV Part 2
Dad never wanted a thing to do with me. He never even pretended that he did.
Last year, he suddenly out of the blue wanted me to come over.
I was really shocked when he begged me to do him a favor.
Some big deal friend of Dad's had a son my age visiting from out of town.
Dad asked me to entertain him.
I didn’t have any experience with boys.
I still don’t!
I was afraid the guy would take one look at me and run.
Dad reassured me I’d be fine.
That should have made me suspicious, because Dad was the biggest one to hound me about the way I look.
‘You’ll be fine, Brie.’ he’d smirked digging into his breakfast. ‘Don’t stress on it, O.K.’
When Abner came over, I can see why my Dad picked me to entertain him.
Abner seemed kind of sweet until we were left alone.
Then he was all hands!
It was like trying to wrestle an octopus.
I was actually grateful when Dad walked in on us.
‘Dude, your daughter is lame. I fully expected to have fun while I was in Studio Town.’
To my shock, my father started apologizing to
him!'
When Abner stalked off threatening to give his father a full report, Dad turned on me.
‘What the hell? I just gave you an opportunity here! All you had to do was be nice to the little troll!’
It dawned on me that Dad only picked me over any of his models was because he probably couldn't pay them enough to go out with Abner.
He had me classified in the same category!
I walked out of my father’s house and I haven’t spoken to him since. Not that he cared.
I decided that even if this surgery made me model material, I still wouldn’t speak to him.
I couldn’t help smiling to myself, as I absently picked up a glamour magazine.
‘I would go to his competition. I’d ask Trent Thornton to represent me.’
That fantasy entertained me while I waited for my mother.
